ARCHITECTURE LANDSCAPE
IN TUSCANY
Thematic series – 11st edition workshop in ITALY
FROM GIOTTO to Calatrava… or just FROM GIOTTO… this is how we should call the open dialogue that analyzes the perception of the architectural object in context – from the scale of the report, to the adapted, integrated one… in the contemporary. A study that analyzes the adaptive language of architecture, A COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF THE EVOLUTION OF THE POSITION OF THE OBJECT OF ARCHITECTURE. A ROAD through the architecture of Northern Italy, which traverses complex spatialities pre-configured in the Romanesque period, complex transposed from the Renaissance and Baroque, correlated with the sculptural spatiality of the contemporary period. IT IS A ROAD THAT ANALYZES THE OBJECT OF ARCHITECTURE IN RELATION TO URBAN SPATIALITY and the relationship between them. A discourse that positions in dialogue the architectural determinations and the morphology of the urban fabric. A question… how do we perceive the object of architecture? what are the elements that persist after a first perception, how does built spatiality and free space compete? A LOOK AT THE EVOLUTION OF ARCHITECTURE, in northern Italy, an in situ studio, of the original vocabulary, a comparative analysis that starts from the Romanesque architecture and reaches the exuberance of the baroque or the sculpturality of the contemporary object. A SPEECH about repetitive elements, about time and layers, about compositions and growths, inclusions and subtractions. It is a workshop that starts from the architectural representations of Giotto’s paintings, passes through the modular language of Andrea Palladio, through the sculptural language of the Baroque and finally reaches the language camouflaged by Bernardo Buontalenti in the gardens of Palazo Pitti in Florence or the contemporary adaptive of those de al Archea Associati in Chianti sau Calatrava in Regio Emmilia.
